Are We Better off with Political Freedom or with Economic Freedom? PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 28 May 2012 06:20

In todays world the media controls what you see, what you hear and eventualywhat you buy. It is for this reasons that i have come to admit that most African countries remain poor for lack of priority and focusing on the wrong things.

Everyday we see thousands and thousands of people camping for days and scorching sunny days whenever a political rally is schedulled in their local cities and counties. Many are even willing to spend thousands of money just to listen to political rhetorics which will never leave them any better.

The gap between the poor and the rich continues to widen because while the poor are wasting time and money in politics the rich are busy discovering new products and investment ventures.  This explains why many don't keep up with business news or have no clue on what goes on at Nairobi stock exchange.

The words of James Dale Davidson seem appropriate: "The politicians don't just  want your money. They want your soul. They want you to be worn down by taxes  until you are dependent and hopeless. When you subsidize poverty and failure,  you get more of both."
