I am sure you have heard the phrase “blessed is the hand that gives than the one that takes” on numerous occasions. It has since time of yore was used to call people to give, to make donations especially during times of need.
Charity is one of the Christian values that are highly regarded. It presents the faithful with a golden opportunity to put their faith to action so that it remains alive, for faith without action is dead.

Good as it may be, the art of giving poses a great challenge to Christians the world over. What differentiates Christian giving from the contemporary charity? Let us explore the biblical answer to this: 1. the bible reminds us that “But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,. (Mathew 6:3). This is the biblical alert even as we go out to give and donate to charity. This caution not withstanding, how often do we play to the gallery, seeking publicity and recognition when we go out to give? Whenever we are applauded and hailed whenever we give, and if that was principally why we went out to give in the first place, then we have received our pay in full and should therefore not expect any reward from our heavenly Father who sees in secret. So do not give for the public eye, give from your heart, for “God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7)
